Isn't it funny how your mood changes for no apparent reason? All weekend long I was so crabby and lifeless. I had a cold, felt miserable, & wanted to do nothing but sleep. Yesterday I was just kind of blah. Just going through the motions of getting up, going to work, coming home, going to practices, getting ready for the next day so I could do it all over again. And then today, out of the blue, I am feeling really good. Happy, even! Nothing changed. Stayed up too late reading last night, so I expected to be extra tired and crabby. But lo and behold, it seems to be the total opposite! I had to stay after school this afternoon, then to a doctor's appointment, then to dance, then home to eat and get the kids ready for bed. All of this I did with a smile on my face! I even had the energy to fold the three loads of clothes in baskets on top of the washing machine! Wow! Whatever it is, keep it coming!
I had to take Lily shopping this weekend to buy her some pants. Poor child. She had reached the point where every time she bent over she was showing some crack, her pants had gotten so small. Both my kids have gone through these massive growth spurts recently and I just can't believe how they've grown. It makes me feel old! Anyway, she got this pair of jeans with purple froo-froo all over them and this velvety looking purple shirt to match. When she got up this morning she declared it to be "Purple Day" and insisted that I find something in my closet befitting this special day so that we could "match". She even wore socks with purple trim, and purple hair stuff. She wanted to paint her fingernails purple, too, but there just wasn't time before we had to leave for school. Darn.
Sam, on the other hand, could care less about his wardrobe. We went to church the other night and he had put on a sleeveless blue shirt that was too small for him this past summer over the top of a long sleeved white shirt with a black stripe down the sleeve. He covered it up with his coat and I didn't see how ridiculous he looked until we got to church. I tried not to laugh, but it was just too funny. I got home the other day and instead of putting on a coat to keep warm while outside, he had put on FOUR shirts, one on top of the other! He hates to wear a coat. I had to buy him some new shoes because he had walked on the back of his other shoes until they had holes in them. He had refused to lace his shoes up like they were meant to be and he tied them really loose so he could just slide them on and off without any effort. So now that he has a new pair of shoes, he says they hurt his feet... but I know it is the fact that his shoes actually fit properly and have to be tied that bothers him. Good grief... boys and girls are totally different!

That's funny about your kids and clothes. Garrett totally has a preference for what he wears... usually prefers "button shirts" which are just button up shirts and refuses to layer shirts (like a short sleeve polo over a long sleeve tee). If he loves something he'll wear it even if it looks like it's 5 sizes too small. I love your daughter's "purple day"!!
Maybe Brad slipped you a mickey.
